About the Role:
The primary responsibility of the Academic Officer will be to execute academic administrative tasks, support the Academic Manager, Senior Academic Officer, and academic teaching staff, ensuring the seamless operation of KOI’s Academic Department and delivery of top-notch education to students. Additionally, the role involves collaboration within a dedicated team to provide high-quality, student-centered, professional, and efficient services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and assist with student inquiries
- Organize and support examination logistics
- Facilitate student enrollment processes
- Review cases of student misconduct
- Help improve students’ learning experiences
- Support teaching staff needs
- Recruit and train casual staff for academic activities
- Maintain records in the Student Management System (SIMS) and student files
- Collaborate with Marketing, Admissions, and Student Services departments for enrollment and orientation
- Aid Student Services in assessing student performance and engagement
- Assist the Head of Programs in course management
- Report student-related issues to the Academic Manager and Senior Academic Officer
- Support the Academic Manager and Senior Academic Officer in maintaining best practices and efficient operations
- Contribute to the development of student and staff instructions, notices, and guides
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Complete tasks assigned by KOI Management
Essential Criteria:
- At least one year of experience in an academic role
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and reading) and customer service proficiency
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Suite, typing, and student database management
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous administrative experience in higher or tertiary education
- Experience working with international students
- Understanding of DHA regulations concerning visas and ESOS regulations relevant to higher education providers
- Familiarity with TEQSA standards and AQF guidelines
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Skills in data compilation and analysis
