The Library and Learning Centre, Culture and Information Directorate (LLC & CI) combines Library Services, Archives and Information Governance, and digital education. Library Services support open research, scholarly resources, academic support and study facilities. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated member of the Academic Librarians team to deliver academic library skills tuition across the University.~
The role holder will be involved in working with students and staff across all academic Schools with the aim of enhancing student retention, attainment and experience. This post will have a particular focus on the support needs of international students on-campus, online and at other institutions as part of transnational partnerships.
Your priorities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working within a team of Academic Librarians, share in the role of liaising with academic Schools to design, deliver and evaluate innovative library skills training programmes that are both engaging and fit for purpose (delivered online via Microsoft Teams and in-person F2F teaching).
- Monitor and advise on the information skills requirements of international student groups, and create specific activities, ! events, a nd resources to meet emerging needs.
- Plan for arrivals support for international student group cohorts.
- Advise on support provision for transnational partnerships, and liaise with Resources Team to guide on the overseas provision of scholarly content.
Who we’re looking for includes:
- Education to degree level or equivalent and professional experience
- Have a high standard of literacy, communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with students and staff at a range of levels in a wide variety of disciplines.
- Must be competent and confident in designing and delivering online tuition packages, as well as in-person, F2F teaching.
- Have strong collaborative skills and a team-oriented approach to working.
- Have a demonstrable understanding of social and digital media and how they can be used effectively in education.
