Job Title: Academic Director Location: Western Sydney University International College, Parramatta About the Role: The Academic Director plays a vital role in overseeing the operations of Western Sydney University International College’s pathway courses and programs. This includes ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and fairness of the college’s academic activities. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a quality learning and teaching framework, managing program development and accreditation, optimizing resource allocation, and providing academic services to enhance the student experience. The Academic Director also contributes to academic governance, specifically the WSUIC Academic Board and its subcommittees. Skills and Experience required: – A PhD in a discipline relevant to the College/Campus offerings – Thorough knowledge of TEQSA regulations – Demonstrated excellence in leadership and management in higher education – Strong operational capabilities, including team-building, resource management, and coordination of academic functions – Successful experience in driving and implementing change – Extensive experience in curriculum development and evaluating learning and teaching effectiveness – Proficiency in developing innovative and flexible approaches to teaching and learning – Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to inspire students and staff – Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build productive relationships with internal and external partners – Familiarity with academic governance and quality assurance processes Responsibilities include but are not limited to: – Supporting the Academic Board and its subcommittees in ensuring effective academic governance and quality assurance – Cultivating excellence in learning and teaching by developing innovative and flexible approaches that cater to the diversity of students – Leading student academic support and engagement initiatives, as well as student retention efforts – Strategic planning and management of academic staff – Conducting detailed data analysis related to student academic performance metrics and devising strategies to address areas requiring improvement – Excellent written communication skills for reporting to an Academic Board What We Offer: – Flexible work arrangements – Opportunities for career progression and development – Collaborative and collegial working environment focused on academic excellence – Competitive salary and benefits package About Us: Western Sydney University International College is an accredited Higher Education Provider located in Parramatta (Sydney).
