#### Job Overview
The Programme Manager role is integral to the academic and student support services at BU London. The position involves ensuring the high quality delivery of academic programs, student resources, engagement activities, welfare services, and housing for around 1,200 students annually. The Programmes Manager is the primary academic contact for incoming and current students in BU London Programs, including the CGS (College of General Studies) Freshmen Programme during the summer. Regular interaction with London faculty will be required to provide top-tier administrative support for classes, field trips, and guest lectures. Additionally, the role includes supporting several special programs and contributing to the Student Affairs Team with high standards of academic support and pastoral care.
#### Purpose of the Role
– **Lead and Manage:** Oversee planning and delivery of the summer CGS, including pre-arrival communication, program execution, and post-departure reviews.
– **Coordinate Workflow:** Manage the CGS & Programmes Administrator to organize bookings, field trips, arrivals, and departures, and to follow up on attendance and absences.
– **Daily Programme Delivery:** Ensure consistency in academic administration, including semester planning, course syllabi, field trips, and exams.
– **Academic Support:** Provide appropriate academic support for students and faculty, including summer visiting faculty.
– **Collaborate:** Work with colleagues in London and Boston and external partners to design year-round dates and calendars for future programs.
– **Information Sharing:** Communicate with colleagues in London and Boston regarding current and prospective students.
– **Visa Support:** Assist with student visa processes and coordination of academic verification checks for compliance with UK Visa & Immigration regulations.
– **Compliance:** Stay informed and compliant with required procedures and laws such as incident reports, Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA, NDAA, etc.
– **Travel:** Potential travel to Boston to meet colleagues and deliver presentations for faculty and students.
#### Essential Qualifications & Competencies
– Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
– Proven experience in managing and delivering similar programs/projects and working within a small team.
– Excellent communication skills capable of engaging senior stakeholders.
– Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
– Professional demeanor, able to handle pressure with a flexible, proactive, and responsive approach.
– Solution-oriented with the ability to handle confidential situations.
– Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
– High standard of IT skills, including familiarity with learning technologies and Virtual Learning Environments in higher education.
