Job Summary:

As the Iran Virtual Advisor for EducationUSA, you will provide comprehensive information and guidance to qualified Iranian students on accessing study opportunities in the United States. Through our cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), you will use virtual platforms to communicate with students and promote enrollment at U.S. institutions of higher education. You will also collaborate with U.S. higher education professionals and present at conferences to enhance understanding of the Iranian higher education system.

Job Requirements:

Essential Functions:

– Utilize virtual platforms to provide one-on-one and group advising to prospective Iranian students interested in studying in the United States.
– Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries related to U.S. education.
– Develop engaging content for the Education USA Iran website, email newsletters, podcasts, and social media to promote U.S. higher education.
– Manage the external website, ensuring up-to-date information and troubleshooting technical issues.
– Present at higher education conferences, sharing knowledge about the Iranian higher education system.
– Maintain program database and provide data for program reports.
– Manage the virtual advising center to ensure effective content delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education and Work Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

– Fluency in English and Farsi.
– Strong organizational, time-management, and administrative skills.
– Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills in both English and Farsi.
– Ability to interpret documents, present to external audiences, and write reports.
– Cultural sensitivity when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
– Discretion with confidential matters and sound judgment in consultations.
– Adaptability to changing organizational needs and a fast-paced work environment.
– Effective multitasking and ability to meet deadlines.
– Proficiency in web-based content management systems and virtual knowledge sharing platforms.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
– Strong editing and proofreading skills.
– Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary Range: $55,043 – $63,987. Salary factors include relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and geographic region.

This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing a combination of office work and telework at specified locations.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:
