Position: International Officer (Fixed-term until 31 August 2025, with potential for permanent position) Job Description: The International Officer role is a vital part of the Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions, and Communications team (MRAC) at the University of Chichester. The main objective of this role is to contribute to the university’s plans to expand and diversify its international student body over a two-year period from 2023 to 2025, with a focus on maintaining steady growth afterwards. The successful candidate will need to have a strategic mindset, be results-oriented, and possess strong communication skills to engage with partners and stakeholders worldwide, as well as within the university. Responsibilities: The International Officer will be responsible for expanding and managing the university’s network of external stakeholders involved in recruitment, such as agents, school counselors, and British Council contacts. The role will also involve identifying and developing other recruitment channels, including partnerships with overseas organizations for articulation or progression opportunities. The officer will need to optimize recruitment and conversion-focused communications with potential students, regularly reviewing and improving systems related to digital marketing, social media, and customer relationship management (CRM) in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team. Additionally, the role requires a willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, for an average of 8 to 12 weeks per recruitment cycle conducted in one to two-week blocks. Requirements: The ideal candidate for this position should have a good understanding of current trends in international recruitment and be familiar with key channels for international student recruitment. Experience working in an international environment is essential, as well as strong motivational and public speaking skills to establish effective relationships. The candidate must have an interest in traveling and interacting with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Confidence in representing the University of Chichester globally, sometimes independently, is also important.
