Position Title: Homestay Officer – International Student Programme Employment Type: Permanent, part-time (25 hours per week) Location: Springfield, with free onsite parking Mercedes College is committed to fostering a highly valued and engaged multicultural community. As a Homestay Officer, you will support the Coordinator of Student Welfare and Accommodation by providing administrative and clerical assistance to the homestay aspect of our International Student Programme. Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with your strong planning and organizational abilities, will contribute to a seamless and enriching homestay experience for our international students. Key Responsibilities: – Assist in finding suitable accommodation for international students, following established screening procedures and compliance with the ESOS Act. – Coordinate the matching of student requirements with appropriate accommodation providers. – Monitor student accommodation to ensure compliance with agreed standards. – Support the orientation and transition services for international students, including helping them understand visa compliance, Australian lifestyle, and college expectations. – Act as a liaison between accommodation providers, international students, and agents. – Organize airport pick-ups and facilitate communication between students, homestay families, agents, and parents regarding student holiday trips. – Provide administrative support for international student excursions or trips, including travel arrangements, venue bookings, catering, etc. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: – Certificate III in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in business or administration. – Strong intercultural awareness and knowledge of issues affecting students studying abroad. – Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. – Commitment to upholding and contributing to the culture and ethos of our Catholic College. – Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and be accountable for outcomes. – Customer service mindset and problem-solving skills to create a positive experience for all stakeholders. – High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity when handling sensitive issues. – Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and adapt to changing needs. – Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively and establish rapport with diverse stakeholders.
