Millikin University

**Position Overview**

The Director of International Recruitment is a full-time role within the International Education department, reporting directly to the Dean of International Education at Millikin University. This pivotal position entails the primary responsibility of recruiting international students globally to participate in Millikin’s diverse range of degree and non-degree academic programs. The Director will develop and implement strategic enrollment plans, leveraging best practices to meet international recruitment goals.

**Key Responsibilities**

– Recruit admissible international students for undergraduate, graduate, and customized non-degree academic programs, which will involve international travel.
– Manage the entire recruitment process for international students, including contacting prospective students, answering inquiries, collecting required documents, reviewing applications, and making admission decisions.
– Communicate consistently and effectively with both prospective and admitted students while maintaining detailed records of communications and recruitment activities.
– Plan, organize, and execute frequent international travel necessary for recruiting international students.
– Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and oversee marketing initiatives aimed at attracting international students.
– Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

– Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
– Experience in International Recruitment and Admissions at a U.S. college or university.
– Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with non-English speakers and individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
– Experience in international travel related to student recruitment and partnership-building.
– Proficient computer skills, including presentation development and social media literacy.
– Valid passport and driver’s license.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

– Master’s degree.
– Four or more years of experience in International Recruitment and Admissions at a U.S. college or university.
– Knowledge of international higher education systems.
– Experience in recruiting sponsored students.
– Experience working with agents and partner institutions.
– Awareness of trends in international student recruitment and emerging student markets.
– Fluency in a second language.
