The University of Edinburgh – College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine Location: Edinburgh Salary: £30,619 to £35,308 per annum (Grade UE06) Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Permanent Placed On: 6th July 2023 Closes: 3rd August 2023 Job Ref: 7922 Edinburgh Medical School / Deanery of Biomedical Sciences /Biomedical Teaching Organisation Full Time (35 Hours per Week) We are seeking a highly organized, professional, approachable, and self-motivated individual to fill the role of ZJE Postgraduate and Student Support Officer. The Opportunity: The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the ZJE postgraduate programs based in China. These programs include a 4-year Dual-Award PhD program in Integrative Biomedical Sciences, a 1-Year UoE single award MScR program in Integrative Biomedical Sciences, and a 4-year UoE single award PhD program in Biomedical Sciences. The post holder will coordinate postgraduate systems and processes to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all aspects of ZJE postgraduate administration and ensure the programs meet the necessary governance, regulation, quality assurance, and benchmarking requirements of the University of Edinburgh and Quality Assurance Agency. The successful candidate will be required to implement systems and processes that can work across both institutions. The Zhejiang University – University of Edinburgh (ZJE) Institute is a major educational and research initiative between the University of Edinburgh (UoE) and Zhejiang University (ZJU) in China. They may be expected to undertake short visits to the ZJE Institute at Zhejiang University International Campus in China (up to a maximum of 30 days in total per year), in order to work with colleagues at the Institute. Your skills and attributes for success: Experience in Higher/Further Education, especially with regards to research and taught program administration. Understanding of University policies and Procedures and Governance is desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to describe services and complex issues clearly both in writing and verbally with tact Experience of working for similar TNE Joint programs is desirable.
