OVERVIEW The Senior Academic Program Coordinator for International Engineering Education at The University of Texas at Austin supports the development, coordination, and advising of engineering study abroad programs within the Cockrell School of Engineering. This role combines program management, student advising, faculty collaboration, and international program logistics in a university environment. The position is full-time, based on the UT main campus, and may include periodic travel and evening or weekend responsibilities. The Cockrell School of Engineering is recognized for its engineering education and research programs, with extensive undergraduate and graduate offerings and a strong international focus. The coordinator plays a central role in supporting faculty-led global learning experiences for engineering students. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate faculty-led study abroad programs – Support program development, budgeting, and contract processing – Promote programs and assist with student recruitment efforts – Provide program-specific student advising and pre-departure guidance – Support students throughout the duration of international programs – Advise faculty members and teaching assistants before departure and during programs – Conduct or support program assessment activities – Coordinate logistics and support with onsite providers – Provide onsite support when needed – Assist with faculty program proposals and workshops – Support pilot program development and reconnaissance site visits – Collaborate with team members on various projects – Perform other related duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree – Five years of experience coordinating study abroad programs – Experience studying or working onsite or abroad – Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate – Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field – Preferred: More than five years of experience working or studying abroad in and outside of Western Europe – Preferred: Experience working with faculty-led programs in a university environment – Preferred: Demonstrated interest in student development – Ability to work in a standard office environment – Ability to perform repetitive keyboard work at a workstation – Availability for periodic evening and weekend work – Availability for periodic travel – Submission of resume/CV – Submission of letter of interest – Submission of three work references, including at least one supervisor reference WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International education programs provide students with opportunities to develop global perspectives, intercultural communication skills, and professional experience in international settings.
