OVERVIEW The International Development Coordinator (Business Development and Engagement) at The University of Queensland is a fixed-term, full-time role supporting the growth of UQ’s global development portfolio through high-impact proposals and partnerships. Based at the St Lucia campus, the position sits within Global Partnerships and focuses on tender coordination, financial modelling, and stakeholder engagement. It offers the opportunity to contribute directly to UQ’s reputation as a leading international project delivery partner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support the end-to-end management of high value international development proposals and tenders to secure global projects. – Coordinate financial costing and pricing models to support competitive bids, business growth, and commercial returns. – Develop, maintain, and enhance institutional knowledge related to international development opportunities and tendering. – Maintain and improve data systems and workflow tools, including Smartsheet, to track pipelines and streamline processes. – Liaise with clients, funders, and partners as part of proposal development and project capture activities. – Work collaboratively with internal UQ stakeholders and external partners to strengthen UQ’s position in development and project delivery services. – Provide direct support to the Manager and Senior Manager (International Development, Business Development & Engagement). REQUIREMENTS – Undergraduate degree with at least three years’ experience in business development within international development, adult education, or related sectors, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. – Knowledge of development practice, business opportunity monitoring and evaluation, and experience in business development and stakeholder engagement. – Demonstrated experience designing systems for tender preparation and business capture. – Proven capability in preparing project costing and pricing models and managing proposal compliance. – High-level interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including a track record of writing successful tender submissions and complex project reports. – Ability to work with diplomacy and tact in diverse, multicultural team environments. – Proficiency in MS 365, particularly Excel, and in pipeline tracking software. – Experience writing tenders for DFAT-funded opportunities (desirable). – Unrestricted right to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
