OVERVIEW The Language Center Director at Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (BiUH) is a senior leadership role focused on building and guiding a newly established Language Center. This position combines strategic planning, academic leadership, and operational management across German and English language departments. The role is based in Hainan, China, within an international university environment that emphasizes applied sciences and cross-cultural engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Establish and direct a new Language Center, incorporating existing German and English language departments – Align multilingual curricula across language programs to support institutional academic goals – Foster cross-cultural learning environments within language education – Integrate modern and AI-based teaching methods into language instruction – Develop and implement teacher training systems – Design and oversee quality assurance processes for language teaching – Recruit, supervise, and support language instructors – Oversee budgeting and resource allocation for the Language Center – Coordinate with university administration and internal stakeholders – Promote the Language Center within the university and to the broader community REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Language centers play a critical role in international universities by enabling multilingual communication, supporting academic success, and strengthening global engagement.
