OVERVIEW The International Officer role at Durham University sits within the International Office and supports the delivery of the University’s Global Strategy. The position focuses on international student recruitment while contributing to partnership development and student mobility activity. This role combines strategic coordination with significant external engagement, including regular international travel and close collaboration across regional teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support delivery of the University’s Global Strategy with a focus on achieving international student recruitment targets – Recruit international students across key global markets – Develop and manage international partnerships – Support and oversee student mobility programmes, including Erasmus+ and international exchange partnerships – Travel extensively to international markets, particularly in Asia – Build and maintain relationships with school counsellors and education agents – Work closely with regional managers to align recruitment and partnership activity – Engage in hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week on campus in Durham REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International student recruitment and global partnerships are central to universities’ academic, cultural, and financial sustainability.
