OVERVIEW The Leadership and Public Speaking Course Specialist and Alumni Affairs Coordinator supports several NYU Abu Dhabi community programs, including the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program, NYU Abu Dhabi Summer Academy, Arab Film Studio Young Filmmakers Workshop, and the NYUAD PhD Pathways Program. The role combines instruction, student advising, alumni engagement, and program coordination responsibilities. It focuses on leadership development, public speaking education, graduate school preparation, and support for Emirati students and alumni pursuing university and graduate pathways. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Deliver leadership and public speaking instruction for community program participants – Provide graduate school advising and university preparation support – Support student recruitment and selection processes – Coordinate and support international trips connected to program activities – Manage alumni engagement initiatives and ongoing communication with alumni networks – Facilitate mentorship opportunities for students and alumni – Contribute to curriculum development related to leadership and public speaking programming – Coordinate leadership workshops and guest speaker events – Support graduate pathways initiatives for Emirati students and alumni – Assist with program coordination across multiple NYU Abu Dhabi community programs REQUIREMENTS – Experience or involvement in leadership instruction – Experience or involvement in public speaking education – Ability to provide graduate school advising and university preparation support – Ability to coordinate student recruitment and selection activities – Ability to support international travel and program logistics – Experience with alumni engagement and mentorship coordination – Curriculum development capability – Event coordination skills for workshops and guest speaker sessions – Ability to support Emirati students and alumni in academic and graduate pathways – Ability to work across multiple educational and community programs WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This position contributes to educational access, leadership development, and long-term academic success for students and alumni connected to NYU Abu Dhabi community programs.
