OVERVIEW The International Officer role at Durham University sits within the International Office and contributes directly to the institution’s global engagement and student recruitment activity. The position combines strategic objectives with practical delivery, supporting international recruitment, partnership development, and outbound and inbound mobility programmes. Based in Durham with a hybrid working model, the role involves regular on-campus presence alongside significant international travel, particularly across Asian markets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Recruit international students in line with the University’s international student recruitment targets – Develop and manage international partnerships on behalf of the University – Deliver student mobility programmes, including Erasmus+ and other exchange schemes – Support the University’s Global Strategy through international engagement activity – Manage relationships with school counsellors and education agents – Undertake extensive international travel, particularly across Asian markets REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International Officers play a central role in connecting universities with the global education ecosystem.
