OVERVIEW This Regional Manager role sits within the International Relations Directorate at Liverpool John Moores University and focuses on delivering international recruitment objectives across a defined portfolio of country markets. The position has a primary geographic focus on the Gulf and Africa, excluding Nigeria, and plays a key role in supporting the university’s International Plan 2023–2030. It is a senior, externally facing role that combines strategic planning with hands-on market engagement and relationship management. The role requires a high level of international engagement, including regular overseas representation, and close collaboration with internal stakeholders to align recruitment activity with institutional priorities. It is designed for an experienced international education professional who can operate confidently across multiple markets and contribute informed insights into global recruitment trends. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead international recruitment objectives across a portfolio of country markets. – Focus recruitment and engagement activity primarily within the Gulf and Africa, excluding Nigeria. – Develop and manage international partnerships. – Represent Liverpool John Moores University overseas. – Provide market intelligence to inform international recruitment strategy. – Support international student recruitment activity. – Contribute to the delivery of the university’s International Plan 2023–2030. REQUIREMENTS – Extensive experience in international student recruitment within a UK university context. – Ability to undertake significant overseas travel.
