OVERVIEW The Country Manager, China, is part of the International Student Recruitment Team within the Division of Student Services and Operations at the University of Tasmania. This role supports the university’s international recruitment strategy across china, with a focus on attracting and enrolling international students. The position includes relationship management, recruitment activity, stakeholder engagement, and market analysis to support the university’s international objectives. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and includes frequent travel within North Asia, as well as occasional travel to Australia. The successful candidate will contribute to recruitment initiatives that strengthen the university’s presence and engagement with students and partners in china. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Advance the university international recruitment strategy across china – Attract and enrol international students – Manage education agent relationships – Represent the university at recruitment events – Support prospective student enquiries and engagement – Identify partnership opportunities with government departments and educational institutions – Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders – Gather market intelligence to support recruitment activity – Travel frequently within North Asia – Undertake occasional travel to Australia REQUIREMENTS – Experience supporting international recruitment activity – Ability to manage education agent relationships – Ability to represent a university at recruitment events – Strong stakeholder collaboration skills – Ability to support prospective students through the recruitment process – Ability to identify partnership opportunities with educational institutions and government departments – Willingness to travel within North Asia and occasionally to Australia WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International recruitment plays an important role in supporting university growth, global engagement, and student diversity.
