OVERVIEW The Assistant Director of Global Operations Management at Williams College plays a central role in supporting and strengthening the operational backbone of Global Education and Study Away (GESA). This position focuses on managing complex administrative, financial, technical, and risk-related processes that enable study away and faculty-led global programs. Reporting to the Dean of Global Education, the role combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership in a growing office. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Oversee systems and operations related to the Home School Tuition policy – Lead and support risk mitigation work connected to Study Away programming – Collaborate with faculty to streamline short-term faculty-led travel course processes – Work with the Winter Study Director and Winter Study Program Committee on course management and operations – Liaise regularly with legal counsel, information technology, and external partners on risk mitigation and financial matters related to Study Away – Partner with the Dean of Global Education to develop and maintain the list of approved program partners – Manage the budget associated with Home School Tuition implementation and management processes – Oversee and manage the Terra Dotta platform REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree required – Advanced degree preferred – Experience with global programming, risk management, or related fields – Higher education administration experience preferred – Strong technical aptitude – Experience managing the Google suite preferred – Experience with Terra Dotta preferred – Demonstrated ability to manage budgets independently – Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Effective global education programs depend on strong operational systems, clear risk management practices, and reliable financial oversight.
