OVERVIEW The International Scholar Advisor role supports international students, faculty, and scholars at a top public research university with a strong global mission. Based within International Student and Scholar Services, this position focuses on advising, immigration compliance, and institutional collaboration. The role plays a key part in strengthening the university’s ability to recruit and retain international talent. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide immigration advising for international scholars and faculty – Serve as Alternate Responsible Officer (J-1) and Designated School Official (F-1) – Ensure compliance with federal immigration regulations – Act as a liaison with relevant government agencies – Train campus partners on immigration-related processes and requirements – Support international scholars and faculty throughout their engagement with the university REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International scholars and faculty contribute directly to the global reach, research excellence, and academic vitality of the institution.
