OVERVIEW The International Officer (Middle East and Africa) role at the University of Surrey sits within the International Student Recruitment team and is focused on growing applications and enrolments from a diverse and strategically important region. This position combines market-facing recruitment activity with relationship management and strategic planning to support the university’s international ambitions. It is well suited to an experienced international education professional who enjoys working across cultures and contributing to long-term recruitment growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support the development and implementation of a strategic plan to increase applications and enrolments from the Middle East and Africa – Build and maintain relationships with international schools in the region – Manage a network of international student recruitment agents – Attend international student recruitment events – Organise on-campus activities related to international student recruitment – Contribute to initiatives aimed at increasing international student applications and enrolments REQUIREMENTS – Experience as a professional working in international student recruitment – A background in international student recruitment – Hands-on experience managing overseas recruitment activities – A strong understanding of the international recruitment sector WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International student recruitment plays a critical role in supporting the global outlook, cultural diversity, and financial sustainability of universities in the United Kingdom.
