OVERVIEW The University of Bristol is seeking a Head of Transnational Education (TNE) Programmes to join the Global Engagement Division. This open-ended role sits within the Global Partnerships team and focuses on leading the university’s approach to transnational education programmes and overseas education opportunities. The position involves shaping strategic direction, supporting programme development, and ensuring that opportunities are financially sound and aligned with academic quality standards. The role operates within a hybrid working arrangement, requiring a minimum of 2–3 days per week on campus, with collaboration across multiple schools. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the university’s approach to transnational education programmes – Support the development of overseas education opportunities into feasible programmes – Provide direction for tne activity within the Global Partnerships team – Evaluate opportunities related to global partnerships and education programmes – Shape programme proposals and support programme development – Build governance structures and operational processes for tne programmes – Lead the TNE Programmes team – Work with multiple schools across the university – Support academic quality and student experience within global education initiatives REQUIREMENTS – Specialist experience in transnational education – Commercial awareness – Ability to work with international partners – Commitment to academic quality – Commitment to student experience WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role contributes to the university’s global engagement strategy by supporting the development of sustainable and high-quality education programmes with international reach.
