OVERVIEW The International Officer role at Durham University is a permanent, full-time position within the International Office, supporting the institution’s Global Strategy. Based in Durham with hybrid working, the role combines on-campus collaboration with extensive overseas travel, particularly across Asian markets. It offers an opportunity to contribute directly to international student recruitment, global engagement, and student mobility activity at a research-intensive UK university. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support international student recruitment activity in line with university targets. – Contribute to the development and delivery of the University’s Global Strategy. – Manage and maintain relationships with school counsellors and education agents. – Support global partnerships on behalf of the International Office. – Contribute to student mobility programmes, including Erasmus+ and exchange partnerships. – Undertake extensive overseas travel, primarily in Asian markets, to represent the University. REQUIREMENTS – Ability to work full-time in an open-ended, permanent role (35 hours per week). – Willingness to undertake extensive overseas travel, particularly to Asian markets. – Ability to work within a hybrid model, with a minimum of two days per week on campus in Durham.
