Australian College Of Physical Education (ACPE)

Job Summary: ACPE, Australia’s oldest specialist sports institution, is seeking an energetic and passionate Student Support Coordinator with experience supporting international students. This role focuses on student support, communication, and implementation of diversity and equity policies. The coordinator will ensure that all domestic and international students are supported throughout their time at ACPE. The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and working with various departments to ensure student success. Responsibilities: 1. Student Progress Support: – Manage enrolment process for conditional students and monitor attendance and progression. – Liaise with Heads of Academic Departments and internal stakeholders regarding enrolment advice. – Facilitate appointments for “At Risk” students with Academic Staff. – Analyze student results and develop tailored academic support initiatives. – Collaborate with the Academic and Student Learning Support Team to enhance student experience and success. – Provide systems access support and report on student progress. 2. Student Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: – Implement diversity and equity policies and assessment, monitoring, and reporting frameworks. – Foster an inclusive environment that embraces diversity. – Apply ACPE’s diversity and equity policies when handling special provision requests from students. – Collaborate with the examinations team to address the needs of students requiring special provisions. – Manage student records and increase awareness of policies and initiatives. – Establish strong relationships between Diversity and Equity students and Academic and Services staff. – Assist with examination invigilation. 3. International Students Support: – Serve as the initial contact for enrolled international students. – Assist with re-enrolment, timetable assistance, and academic support. – Monitor attendance and engagement of international students and report to ensure compliance with regulations. – Aid international students in transitioning to college life and adjusting to life in Australia. 4. Student Services: – Provide support at college events, including Orientation Weeks and Open Days. 5. Special Projects: – Efficiently and effectively carry out assigned projects and tasks. Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree in education, management, or related field. – Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of employment. – Valid Working with Children Check. – Current NSW Driver’s license. Experience: – 2+ years of experience in a similar role. – In-depth knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion policies and procedures. – Experience in data management. – Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Skills & Attributes: – Excellent interpersonal skills and passion for working with people. – Ability to build connections and rapport with staff and students. – Strong organizational and time management skills for multitasking and meeting deadlines. – Excellent communication skills. – Ability to work independently and within a team. – Background or interest in health and/or physical activity.
