Job Title: Student Services Coordinator – New Colombo Plan (NCP) Program Program Description: The New Colombo Plan (NCP) is an initiative by the Australian government to enhance knowledge of the Indo Pacific region in Australia. It provides support to undergraduate students to study and pursue internships in the region, contributing to Australia’s regional influence by creating a diverse group of alumni with in-depth Indo-Pacific knowledge, skills, and connections. Program Components: 1. Scholarship Program: Annually awards 120-150 scholarships to high-performing students for programs lasting up to 19 months in 40 Indo-Pacific countries. The programs include university study, language training, and internships. 2. Mobility Grants Program: Grants awarded to Australian universities to support student mobility projects in the region. Projects may involve short-term (2-6 weeks) or semester-long study, internships, mentorships, practicums, research, and language training. 3. Alumni Program: Focuses on building a community of NCP scholars and mobility students alumni, fostering lasting relationships with individuals and institutions in the Indo-Pacific region. It also aims to promote the program and its wider benefits. Program Management: Palladium has been appointed as the Service Provider to deliver the NCP Managed Administrative and Support Services (NCP MASS) program. Palladium works closely with the NCP Secretariat team from DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade), which is responsible for program strategy, policy, and oversight. Palladium provides comprehensive services to support the operational delivery of the NCP, including administration, communication, marketing, monitoring and evaluation, event management, business engagement support, and risk management. Role: As part of the NCP MASS program team, the Student Services Coordinator plays a critical role in providing effective administrative and support services to the NCP Scholarship Program throughout its lifecycle. This includes tasks such as promoting and selecting new awardees, providing pre-departure training, and offering case management support during a scholar’s program. The Student Services Coordinator ensures a consistent, seamless, and high-quality experience for NCP scholars, and facilitates their transition into the alumni program upon completion of their scholarship. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of scholars in various program contexts and locations across the Indo-Pacific region. Strong representation for the program and professional communication with stakeholders such as university partners, host institutions, and alumni is expected. Responsibilities: – Provide administrative and support services to NCP Scholarship Program, adhering to contracted services, policies, and guidelines. – Manage a caseload of scholars, offering case management throughout their programs. – Facilitate an excellent experience for NCP scholars and ensure a smooth transition to the alumni program. – Liaise with stakeholders, including university partners, host institutions, and alumni. – Maintain accurate data entry and records management using NCP ICT systems. – Collaborate with other teams within the MASS program. – Follow service level agreement with DFAT for quality and timely service delivery. – Generate relevant reports and analysis. – Ensure compliance with scholarship administration and payment processes. Requirements: – Strong customer service and case management skills. – Experience in international education or student services (advantageous). – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. – Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders. – Strong organizational and time management skills. – Proficiency in live online database systems and Microsoft Office Suite. – Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities. – Ability to work within guidelines and policies and adapt to changes. – Flexibility and adaptability to unpredictable circumstances. – Commitment to continuous improvement and high service delivery standards. – Sensitivity and inclusivity in working with scholars and stakeholders. Desired: – Experience providing welfare and academic support to tertiary students. – Knowledge of the Australian tertiary education sector, scholarships, and outbound student mobility programs. – Relevant tertiary qualifications.
