The University is seeking a Senior Visas and Immigration Staffing Advisor to join their Recruitment Team within the People and Organisation Development Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development, implementation, and management of the University’s international recruitment and immigration processes for staff. The role will involve managing a variety of visa types, including Skilled Worker and Government Authorised Exchange, as well as providing advice and support on complex immigration matters. A key focus of the role is to ensure an inclusive and supportive experience for international staff starting their employment at the University. The Senior Visas and Immigration Staffing Advisor will be responsible for staying up to date with Home Office/UKVI legislation changes and ensuring compliance with sponsorship duties. They will also be involved in developing systems and processes to enhance compliance and improve data and document governance and retention. This position requires a strong understanding of the Skilled Worker route and experience in dealing with a high volume of certificates of sponsorship and visas. Knowledge of other visa types and right to work checking is also necessary. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to work with complex legislation. The Senior Visas and Immigration Staffing Advisor will have autonomy in managing their workload and making decisions. They will work closely with the Recruitment Manager and will have the opportunity to collaborate with various individuals within the University community.
