About the Role The Senior Admissions Officer will be responsible for managing a team of Admissions Officers to deliver a professional and proactive admissions service for the university. This includes setting objectives, overseeing workload, ensuring a high-quality applicant experience, and making accurate and efficient decisions. As a team leader, the Senior Admissions Officer will be the point of contact for queries from Admissions Officers and colleagues across the university. They will also research and advise on non-standard qualifications and fee statuses and provide training and knowledge-sharing to the team. The role also involves monitoring admissions progress, analyzing data trends, and collaborating with colleagues across the university to ensure a consistent and fair admissions process. We encourage candidates with experience from both within and outside the Higher Education sector, as long as they possess the necessary skills to succeed in this role. Contract Type This position is offered on an indefinite contract and as a full-time role, but we are open to candidates seeking a flexible work pattern within our necessary service operating hours (10am – 4pm). Please note that annual leave may be restricted during peak periods, mainly in August. Key Responsibilities – Manage a team of Admissions Officers, including line management, performance review, workload monitoring, and development and training needs. – Implement and oversee compliance with internal and external regulations and accreditation requirements, such as GDPR, UKVI regulations, DBS, and Occupational Health. – Maintain accurate applicant records, ensure effective delivery of admissions processes, and provide timely advice to Admissions Officers on complex applicant queries. – Build and maintain relationships with Faculty colleagues, external colleagues, and partners to support admissions processes. – Provide responsive and high-quality customer service and handle challenges that may arise, including investigating and resolving low-level complaints. – Proficiently use various software, systems, and databases to support faculties and colleagues.
