OVERVIEW The Manager, Study Abroad & Partnerships role at Southern Cross University is a senior professional position focused on driving international growth through partnerships and global mobility channels. This newly created role sits across study abroad, transnational education, and pathway recruitment, contributing directly to the University’s international strategy and global profile. Based at either the Gold Coast or Lismore, the position combines strategic leadership with hands-on business development in a regional Australian university context. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Driving international student recruitment growth through partnership and global mobility channels – Developing and managing strategic relationships with offshore partners, pathway providers, and government stakeholders – Identifying and progressing new business development opportunities aligned with University priorities – Leading partner channel recruitment plans – Supporting transnational education and study abroad initiatives – Representing Southern Cross University at international events, partnership meetings, and global engagement activities REQUIREMENTS – A relevant degree and at least five years of subsequent experience in international student recruitment and business development, or equivalent – Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder and partner relationships across diverse cultural contexts – Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills – Experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives or projects to achieve business outcomes – Knowledge of the international education sector and Australian regulatory requirements relating to international students – Eligibility to work in Australia for the full duration of the appointment, with Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or current working rights WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International partnerships and global mobility programs are central to universities’ ability to diversify student cohorts, expand global engagement, and build sustainable international pipelines.
