OVERVIEW North Lakes State College in North Lakes, Brisbane is seeking an Acting Deputy Principal (Primary) to join the Primary Leadership Team. This temporary opportunity will commence on 11 August 2026 and conclude at the end of the 2026 school year unless otherwise determined. The role focuses on leading strategic and operational priorities within the primary phase while working collaboratively with staff, students, and families to support student achievement and wellbeing. Established in 2002, the College has grown into a dual-campus P-12 institution serving more than 2,400 students. The school promotes holistic education and is guided by the values of Choice, Courage, and Respect. The Deputy Principal will contribute to a positive and inclusive learning culture while supporting continuous improvement across the College. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead and support whole-school improvement initiatives aligned with the College’s Annual Implementation Plan and Strategic Plan – Build the capability of teaching teams through coaching, feedback, and professional learning – Promote excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes – Foster positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community – Lead operational priorities with professionalism, sound judgement, and a solutions-focused approach – Contribute positively as a member of the College Executive Leadership Team – Model collaboration, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement – Support high-quality teaching and learning practices – Use data to inform decision-making – Foster a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with the College’s vision and values REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and learning – Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing and continuous improvement – Ability to build the capability of others as an instructional leader – Ability to use data to inform decision-making – Ability to foster a positive and inclusive school culture – Alignment with the College’s vision and values – Current Queensland Government employee status required for eligibility – Submission of a brief resume including contact details for two referees – Submission of a one-page written statement in response to the role description – Compliance with any mandatory requirements outlined in the attached role description WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role supports the strategic direction and daily operations of a large and growing P-12 college community.
