OVERVIEW This role supports the delivery of professional and community placements for education students at Australian Catholic University. Working within School Operations, the Administrative Officer contributes to the coordination of school and community experience placements for programs delivered by the National School of Education. The position is part-time (21 hours per week), continuing, and based at the Strathfield or Canberra campus with some hybrid flexibility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide timely, effective and efficient administrative support for sourcing appropriate field placements – Allocate school and community experience placements for courses delivered by the National School of Education – Support placement processes within the School Operations team – Contribute to the coordination of professional and community placement activities REQUIREMENTS – Hold Australian work rights (permanent work rights required for continuing roles) – Ability to complete mandatory pre-employment declarations and background checks, including those related to gender-based violence and foreign interference – Hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP) where applicable WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Professional and community placements are a critical component of education degrees, enabling students to apply theory in real-world settings. By supporting the sourcing and allocation of placements, this role helps ensure students have equitable, timely access to high-quality learning experiences. The position also contributes to the smooth operation of placement partnerships between the university, schools, and community organisations.
