OVERVIEW The Campus Minister role at St Benedict’s College in Mango Hill, Queensland, focuses on supporting the religious identity, faith development, and pastoral life of the school community. Working within Brisbane Catholic Education, the position contributes to the mission and strategic goals of Catholic education while creating opportunities for student engagement in prayer, worship, and community connection. This is a term-time continuing position based in a growing secondary college serving students in Years 7 to 12. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Contribute to and promote the development, alignment, attainment, and review of the mission and strategic goals for Brisbane Catholic Education – Implement projects that nurture the religious identity and culture of the school – Encourage, facilitate, and support faith, spiritual, and pastoral development for students – Promote connections within and beyond the wider Church community – Create opportunities for student prayer and worship – Contribute to significant school liturgies and celebrations REQUIREMENTS – Experience aligning activities and programs within an organisation to support mission and strategic goals – Experience leading initiatives that foster and enhance the religious identity and culture within a school – Experience supporting the faith, spiritual, and pastoral growth of students through targeted programs – Experience building connections with the broader Church community to enrich a school’s religious life – Experience organising and facilitating student prayer, worship, and school liturgies and celebrations – Hold or be willing to complete a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education (Campus Ministry) or equivalent recognised by Brisbane Catholic Education – Equivalent study may include four university-level units in Religious Education, Theology, Ministry, or a related field – Applicants must be Catholic – Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment – Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement – Commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining professional standards in environments involving young people WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Campus Ministry positions play an important role in supporting the spiritual and pastoral life of school communities. Professionals in these roles help students engage with faith, develop a sense of belonging, and participate in meaningful community experiences within a Catholic educational environment. This position also contributes to the broader mission of Brisbane Catholic Education by strengthening partnerships between the school, families, parish communities, and the wider Church. The work supports both student wellbeing and the religious identity of the college.
