OVERVIEW IDP Education is seeking an Education Counsellor based in Adelaide, South Australia. The role focuses on supporting international students throughout their education journey by providing personalised counselling, application guidance, and information about study pathways, admissions, and visa processes. This position combines customer service, sales performance, relationship management, and collaboration with education providers to help students achieve their academic goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Manage and achieve pipeline and sales targets by guiding prospective international students through each stage of their education journey. – Promote student products and services while maintaining and progressing leads. – Support successful application submissions for students seeking study opportunities. – Deliver high-quality customer service to students, families, and education partners. – Provide accurate information about study programs, admission criteria, visa procedures, and local education systems. – Build rapport and maintain trusted relationships with students and stakeholders. – Participate in marketing and engagement events to generate leads and increase brand visibility. – Maintain accurate and current records within the CRM system for effective pipeline management. – Collaborate with internal teams and external education providers to streamline application processes. – Resolve student enquiries efficiently to ensure a smooth enrolment experience. – Analyse student needs and assist with education pathway selections aligned with academic and career goals. – Guide students through document preparation and application processes. – Connect students with suitable educational institutions. – Promote IDP’s student support services and products. – Identify referral and repeat business opportunities that contribute to customer advocacy and growth. REQUIREMENTS – Experience in a customer-focused sales or service environment with demonstrated achievement of individual and team targets. – Understanding of the education sector, including placement of students into Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and universities. – Knowledge of immigration regulations and application procedures relevant to international students. – Tertiary qualifications related to education counselling, student services, or a related discipline. – Prior professional experience in education counselling or a similar role. – Strong interpersonal and communication skills. – Fluency in spoken and written English. – Ability to engage effectively with diverse international student populations and education stakeholders. – Additional language skills such as Hindi, Punjabi, or another second language are highly desirable. – Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. – Ability to manage multiple priorities in a multicultural and dynamic work environment.
