OVERVIEW ACAP University College, part of the Navitas network, is seeking a Field Education Coordinator in Perth WA to support the Discipline of Social Work. This role focuses on enhancing field education experiences for students through placement coordination, academic liaison, stakeholder collaboration, and program support. The position involves working closely with academic leaders, agency-based staff, external supervisors, and students to maintain high-quality placement outcomes aligned with ASWEAS standards. ACAP promotes a purpose-driven culture centred on education, social impact, inclusion, and professional growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support pre-placement planning, student allocations, and compliance with ASWEAS standards – Lead fortnightly Field Education Seminars and pre-placement briefings – Assist with training and development for Field Educators and Liaison Officers – Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve placement challenges and provide external supervision when required – Oversee placement progress for 20–30 students per trimester – Maintain communication with students and placement agencies while providing ongoing support – Review and provide feedback on student academic work – Address placement and academic concerns in consultation with the National Academic Lead – Assist in evaluating and improving the Field Education program – Develop and maintain industry partnerships focused on social justice – Participate in ongoing professional development activities REQUIREMENTS – Minimum five years full-time post-qualifying practice experience or equivalent part-time experience – Eligibility for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) – Excellent time management and organisational skills – Knowledge of Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS) – Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education – Understanding of Workplace Occupational Health and Safety policies and processes WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Field education is a critical part of preparing future social work professionals for meaningful practice.
