OVERVIEW Griffith University is seeking a Placement Officer to join the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences team at the Gold Coast campus in Southport, QLD. This part-time higher education role focuses on coordinating student placements, supporting placement administration, and maintaining strong relationships with industry partners and academic staff. The successful student-focused professional will act as a key contact for placements across domestic and international settings. The role involves collaboration with university stakeholders and external agencies to support placement processes, compliance, reporting, and communication activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate domestic and international student placements and related administrative processes – Build and maintain relationships with placement providers and industry partners – Manage placement systems, student compliance requirements and reporting – Provide advice and support to student groups, academic staff and external stakeholders regarding placements – Support quality assurance, accreditation activities and placement-related events and communications – Work closely with Academic leads and external agencies connected to placement activities REQUIREMENTS – Associate diploma or certificate level qualification with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience – High level of initiative and excellent interpersonal communication skills – Strong organisational and administrative capabilities – Ability to problem-solve and work effectively in a dynamic workplace – Proven ability to prepare correspondence and maintain database systems – Ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders – Familiarity with SONIA placement management software is highly regarded – Unrestricted working rights in Australia WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student placements are an important part of higher education learning and professional preparation.
