OVERVIEW The TAFE Strategy International Lead role at Victoria University is a senior strategic position focused on expanding and strengthening VU TAFE’s presence in international education markets. Based in Melbourne, this fixed-term, part-time role plays a central part in shaping international growth across vocational, pathway and applied higher education programs. The position works across multiple internal portfolios and with external partners to deliver sustainable, evidence-based international education initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Identify, develop and advance international education opportunities across VU TAFE – Lead strategic international market analysis and program feasibility assessments – Support growth in international market share across ELICOS, Foundation Programs, Higher Education Diplomas and Vocational Qualifications – Identify barriers to international growth, including admissions processes, pricing, program duration and delivery models – Provide recommendations to address structural and operational constraints – Provide expert advice on international marketing and recruitment materials to ensure accurate representation of programs, pathways, compliance requirements and market positioning – Identify and scope transnational education (TNE) opportunities – Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders – Work closely with VU TAFE, VU Global, VU Higher Education Colleges and external partners to support international strategy objectives REQUIREMENTS – Background in international education, compliance, market analysis or global partnerships – Experience navigating ASQA, TEQSA and ESOS regulatory frameworks – Understanding of international student pathways across vocational and higher education – Demonstrated strategic thinking and stakeholder influence – Cultural intelligence and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset – Ability to contribute to international education strategy and global growth initiatives – Capability to work across market analysis, compliance, pathways, visas, migration and transnational education – Strong partnership-building potential with industry, global institutions, government and migration stakeholders – Commitment to improving international student experience, employability and long-term outcomes – Current Employee Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one – Full and permanent working rights in Australia (visa sponsorship not available) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role directly supports the sustainable growth and integrity of international education within Australia’s vocational and pathway sectors.
