OVERVIEW The Equity Career Consultant role at the University of Wollongong is a part-time, fixed-term opportunity focused on improving employability outcomes for students from equity cohorts. Working within Careers and Industry Engagement, this position concentrates particularly on supporting students with disability and those studying at regional campuses. The role combines direct student support with program development and employer engagement to advance inclusive career pathways. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Deliver tailored career development and employability support to students from equity cohorts, including students with disability and students based at regional campuses – Design and implement mentoring and employability programs aligned with equity-focused objectives – Build and maintain partnerships with inclusive employers to create meaningful work-integrated learning opportunities – Collaborate across the university to address barriers to student career development – Contribute to innovative projects that support equity, diversity, and inclusion in career outcomes REQUIREMENTS – Experience in career development, employability, or student support – Strong communication skills – Strong stakeholder engagement skills – Demonstrated passion for equity, diversity, and inclusion – Ability to design and deliver impactful programs – Valid work rights in Australia (visa sponsorship is not available) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Universities play a critical role in ensuring that all students can transition successfully from study to employment, regardless of background or circumstance.
