OVERVIEW Australian Catholic University is seeking a Manager, Student Care & Accommodation for a full-time fixed term two-year opportunity based at the North Sydney campus with some hybrid flexibility. The role supports the delivery and continuous improvement of national student accommodation services, with a focus on access, wellbeing, belonging, retention and success for students experiencing educational disadvantage. This position contributes to ACU’s mission and strategic priorities through collaborative partnerships and coordinated support services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the development and implementation of the Student Care & Success program – Support the delivery and continuous improvement of national student accommodation services – Improve access, participation, wellbeing, belonging, retention and success for regional and remote students – Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, low socioeconomic students and other disadvantaged student cohorts – Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organisations, social service providers, government agencies and internal stakeholders – Create coordinated pathways to support students experiencing hardship, housing insecurity, financial distress and complex challenges – Work closely with the National Manager to contribute to an integrated Student Wellbeing Framework – Support the achievement of ACU’s mission, equity objectives and strategic priorities – Participate in application and compliance processes as required REQUIREMENTS – Candidates must hold Australian work rights – Preferred candidates will complete mandatory pre-employment declarations and background checks – This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP) where applicable – Applicants should provide a resume – Applicants should provide responses to the Selection Criteria and Core Competencies in a cover letter or online application page – Candidates must complete any required pre-screening employment questions WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role supports students facing financial, housing and educational challenges by helping create inclusive pathways to participation and success in higher education.
