OVERVIEW Acknowledge Education is seeking an Academic Student Support Officer to support students in developing academic skills, communication abilities, and understanding of academic integrity within a higher education environment. Based in Melbourne VIC, the role involves working closely with academic staff and Course Coordinators to improve student outcomes and provide targeted education support. The organisation delivers programs across multiple disciplines and supports more than 8,000 students annually. This position is suited to professionals who can support diverse student populations while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across academic services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Deliver workshops focused on academic skills and academic integrity. – Support students referred by Course Coordinators through learning plans and progress monitoring. – Process Academic Misconduct cases in line with organisational policy. – Collaborate with teaching staff and Course Coordinators to improve student academic outcomes. – Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to student support. – Report on student support activities. – Refer students to appropriate internal services when required. REQUIREMENTS – Strong communication and interpersonal skills. – Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks. – Confidence using technology and learning platforms. – Ability to work independently and as part of a team. – Experience supporting students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. – Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. – Master’s degree in TESOL, Education, or a related field. – Experience in academic support or tertiary teaching is desirable. – Understanding of academic integrity principles and student learning needs is desirable.
