OVERVIEW The Student Success Project Coordinator (Equity) is a fixed-term, full-time role within Queensland University of Technology’s Learning and Teaching Unit, based at the Kelvin Grove campus with hybrid work options available. The position focuses on coordinating the investigation, design, and development of a Student Success Advisory Model aimed at improving retention and success for priority learner cohorts. This role is offered for six months and is open to applicants with unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate the investigation, design, and development of a Student Success Advisory Model to be piloted in Semester 1, 2027 – Focus on improving retention and success outcomes for priority learner cohorts – Identify early indicators of student non-engagement – Enable timely and proactive outreach to support student success – Work in partnership with faculties, divisions, students, and other stakeholders across the university – Contribute to learner-centric, data-informed approaches to student engagement, transition, and retention REQUIREMENTS – Education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience in student engagement, transition, and success – Demonstrated experience coordinating support for diverse student cohorts, including equity groups – Understanding of issues affecting adult learners, retention, and success in higher education – Demonstrated ability to interpret and evaluate literature reviews, analyse data, synthesise insights, coordinate projects, and develop evidence-based recommendations – Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, academic staff, professional staff, and external partners – Commitment to social justice and culturally safe practice – Highly effective written, verbal, and digital communication skills, including facilitating workshops, managing interview processes, and preparing reports, presentations, and digital resources – Proven effectiveness as a team member with a flexible approach to change and responsiveness to shifting project needs and emerging priorities – Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and Indigenous Australian engagement WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student retention and success are central to institutional quality and equity in higher education.
