OVERVIEW The University of Western Australia is seeking a Placement Officer within the Graduate School of Education on a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term basis for 18 months. This role supports student placement activities by coordinating placement administration, stakeholder communication, and academic support processes within a supportive university environment. The position is based in Crawley, Perth WA, and forms part of College Services, which delivers academic and administrative support across the university. The successful candidate will work closely with students, academic staff, and placement organisations to help ensure effective placement outcomes and compliance with university requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as the primary contact for students, academic staff, and placement organisations throughout the placement process – Provide advice, coordination, and support related to placement activities – Manage placement administration and placement allocations – Oversee compliance, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication – Ensure adherence to university policies and legal requirements – Build and maintain industry partnerships – Support academic coordinators and placement-related assessments, including LANTITE and TPA – Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and broader school operations – Provide academic administration and technical support services within the university environment REQUIREMENTS – Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency – Substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level – Highly developed written and verbal communication skills – Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines – Proficiency in computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, and email – Relevant rights to work in Australia WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This placement position contributes to the effective coordination of professional experiences that support student development and academic success.
