OVERVIEW The Vocational Placement Coordinator / Student Support Officer role with Ashley Services Group is a full-time, permanent position based in Salisbury, Brisbane, within a well-established Australian workforce and training organisation. The role sits within Ashley Institute of Training, a Registered Training Organisation delivering accredited face-to-face training across multiple locations. This position combines student support, employer engagement, and placement coordination to ensure learners successfully complete the practical components of their qualifications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate and plan practical placements for students across a range of qualifications – Build strong relationships across a variety of industries – Work with potential employers to ensure smooth onboarding of student placements – Provide excellent customer service to both students and potential businesses – Work with students and educate them on practical placement requirements and workplace environments – Keep informed on market trends and employer requirements – Develop industry networks and partnership opportunities – Work collaboratively with trainers and administration staff to support positive student outcomes and course completion – Encourage student engagement, attendance, and retention through proactive communication and support strategies – Support students facing barriers to participation and escalate issues where required – Travel to multiple teaching locations, including North Lakes, Ipswich, and Logan, in line with student needs REQUIREMENTS – Passion for helping and supporting students – Previous experience working within a Registered Training Organisation, which is advantageous – Experience in the childcare and individual support sector, or a background in community services and coordination, which is highly regarded – Ability to work independently – Strong communication skills and ability to interact with students at different levels – High attention to detail – Proven ability to build new relationships – Strong sales background – Australian driver’s licence and access to own transport – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support students from diverse backgrounds – Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations with empathy and professionalism – Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple placements at the same time WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Vocational placements are a critical bridge between training and employment, allowing students to apply their learning in real workplace settings.
