OVERVIEW The Student Placement Adviser (Work Integrated Learning Program) supports university students to gain practical, career-building experiences through structured workplace placements. Based at Curtin University’s Bentley campus, this part-time role connects students, employers, and the university to improve graduate outcomes and meet workforce needs across Western Australia. The position is offered at 0.8 FTE on a maximum-term contract through to 31 December 2026. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Seek placement opportunities with Western Australian businesses that develop university students’ skills while meeting employer needs – Deliver workforce outcomes for client organisations and improve graduate outcomes for participating students – Use recruitment strategies to match students with suitable businesses across WA – Develop and maintain relationships within the business community to increase the number and diversity of Work Integrated Learning placements – Work predominantly with Science and Engineering students, with potential expansion to other faculties REQUIREMENTS – Understanding of Work Integrated Learning and vocational placements (highly desirable) – Practical knowledge of marketing and promotional methods to engage employers and students – Knowledge of recruitment practices – Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders – Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines – Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously within a small on-site client team – Knowledge of the engineering and/or science sector (desired) – Bachelor or other tertiary degree in a relevant discipline – Current Western Australia driver’s licence – National Police Clearance – Working with Children Check WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Work Integrated Learning plays a critical role in helping students transition from study to employment by providing real-world experience aligned with their academic learning.
