OVERVIEW The Student Advisor role at The University of Western Australia (UWA) focuses on delivering high-quality, student-centred advisory and administrative services across the full student lifecycle. Based in Crawley, Perth, this position sits within the Directorate of Student Success and Progression and contributes directly to student success, retention, and progression. The role is offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with contract opportunities available. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Deliver high-quality, student-centred advisory and administrative services supporting students from enrolment through to graduation – Provide accurate advice and resolve complex student enquiries – Support student success, retention, and progression through effective advising and service delivery – Partner with academic and professional staff to coordinate student management activities – Contribute to the enhancement of systems, policies, and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery – Work collaboratively across the University to deliver integrated, student-centred services – Play a key role in creating a positive student experience REQUIREMENTS – Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience with a substantial administrative background in a similar environment – Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, accurate advice – Demonstrated ability to manage complex enquiries – Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment – Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively – Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement – Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing the student experience – Relevant rights to work in Australia WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student Advisors play a critical role in ensuring that students receive timely, accurate, and supportive guidance throughout their studies.
