OVERVIEW The Team Leader – Academic Administration at Sunraysia Institute of TAFE (SuniTAFE) is a senior operational role responsible for leading high-quality, compliant student administration services. Based at the Mildura campus, this position operates in a complex vocational education and training environment with strong regulatory and audit requirements. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Administration, the role combines people leadership, risk management, and continuous improvement across key student administration functions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead and prioritise Academic Administration operations – Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the student administration team – Oversee the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of student records – Manage student financial administration processes – Lead operations across student records, financial administration, and Student Management System functions – Ensure compliance with VET regulatory frameworks, funding conditions, and internal policies – Maintain audit readiness at all times – Identify, manage, and escalate operational, compliance, and contractual risks – Provide informed recommendations to senior leadership – Drive continuous improvement by reviewing processes, implementing enhancements, and embedding standard operating procedures – Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure integrated, end-to-end student administration services REQUIREMENTS – Valid Working with Children Check (Employee) – Criminal Record Check less than six months old – Ability to meet child safety obligations, including completion of Child Safe Training – Submission of a CV or resume – Submission of a cover letter addressing the Key Selection Criteria (maximum two pages) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Academic administration is critical to the integrity, funding, and regulatory standing of vocational education providers.
