About the role: VIT is currently seeking a Student Placement Officer with a minimum 3 years’ experience of working at an Australian Education Provider or equivalent. This position is based at VIT’s Melbourne Campus. . The Student Placement Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, executing and growing the VIT business and student services functions. As a Placement Officer, you’ll provide high-level customer service to internal and external stakeholders to enable seamless placement of students in projects and/or jobs. In this role, you will report to the Executive Dean and will: * Individuals who applied for the position in the previous advertisement are requested not to submit another application.* Type of Employment: Casual Location: Melbourne General Build and foster professional relationships with internal and external industry stakeholders Surveying stakeholders regularly to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement Maintain all program records and documentation Assist in reports to both internal and external stakeholders Provide advice and support to students in relation to general placement enquiries. Profession Practice Placement Ensure professional practice placements are organised and allocated to students in a timely and efficient manner monitor student lists, liaise with placement facilities regarding rosters and liaise with students Act as contact point for external industry stakeholders and provide efficient and effective customer service, liaising and responding as required. Assist with pre-placement documentation if required (eg Police Checks, Working with Children checks etc) Assist students to understand expectations and requirements for placements. Job Placements Work with the Executive Dean/Deans to help identify job placement opportunities with industry Matching student skills with employer’s needs Organize events as needed to promote the organization to potential employers Required Skills Strong interpersonal and relationship skills Experience in organising placements for higher education students. Strong IT and Business industry ties or the ability to develop industry ties. Ability to communicate and liaise with diverse multicultural stakeholders The ability to prioritise and work efficiently Ability to work independently, as well as part of a supportive team environment.
