OVERVIEW Southern Cross University is seeking a Senior Inclusion Support Advisor to join the Study Well team in a full-time fixed term role for approximately 1.5 years. This position focuses on inclusion, learning support, and student success across the university, with responsibility for supporting students with disability, long-term illness, mental health conditions, and caring responsibilities. The role combines leadership, frontline service delivery, and project work connected to the Disability Inclusion Action Plan. The successful candidate will coordinate and mentor a small team while contributing to inclusive practices and student support initiatives across higher education settings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate, mentor, and develop the Inclusion Support team – Ensure quality service delivery and continuous improvement – Manage a caseload of students with diverse and complex needs – Oversee adjustments and inclusive learning strategies – Lead projects arising from the Disability Inclusion Action Plan – Drive change initiatives including processes, training, and frameworks – Build staff capability across the university through disability awareness training – Deliver inclusive practice workshops – Support implementation of inclusive practices across the university – Contribute to student success and learning support initiatives REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree or higher in occupational therapy, nursing, allied health, mental health, social work, disability studies, speech pathology, or a related field – Strong supervisory and mentoring skills – Ability to upskill and influence staff and faculty partners – Proven experience in disability services and inclusive education practices – Experience supporting accommodations and reasonable adjustments – Experience managing complex caseloads – Experience using assessment tools – Project management experience – Ability to improve systems, processes, services, and student outcomes – Higher education experience highly regarded but not essential – Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or current working rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role contributes directly to inclusion and student success within higher education by helping create accessible learning environments for students with disability and other support needs.
