OVERVIEW Anglicare WA is seeking a part-time Student Wellbeing Officer to support students at Kulin District High School and Kondinin Primary School in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. This maximum-term role runs until 29 January 2027 and involves working four days per week during school terms. The position focuses on student engagement, wellbeing support, outreach to disengaged young people and families, and connection to school and community services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Engage with students through a wide range of school-based activities – Provide support for students to connect with professional staff within the school – Conduct outreach to disengaged students and their families – Support young people to access and connect with community-based services – Facilitate school wellbeing workshops and programs – Work across Kulin District High School and Kondinin Primary School – Facilitate small group activities – Operate effectively within a fast-paced and dynamic school environment REQUIREMENTS – Cert IV in Youth Work or another relevant Cert IV qualification – Alternatively, a tertiary qualification that permits registration as a counsellor, teacher, social worker, psychologist, nurse, or midwife – Knowledge of trauma-informed practice – Knowledge of de-escalation techniques – Contemporary understanding of issues impacting children and young people – Understanding of the education system – Ability to facilitate small groups – Ability to work respectfully with children and young people from diverse backgrounds and abilities – Ability to support Aboriginal and CaLD young people and those who may identify as LGBTQIA+ – Current National Police Clearance – Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check from the Department of Education no older than 12 months – Current Working with Children Check – Current WA Driver’s Licence – Energy, enthusiasm, and a desire to make an impact WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student wellbeing professionals play an important role in helping young people stay connected to education, community, and support services. In regional school settings, wellbeing officers contribute to early intervention, student engagement, and inclusive support for children and families facing a range of challenges. This role also supports stronger connections between schools, families, and community-based services.
