OVERVIEW The Inclusion Support Advisor role at Southern Cross University sits within the Study Well team and focuses on enabling equitable access to learning for students with disability. Based at one of the University’s regional campuses, this position supports the institution’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and compliance with disability legislation. The role combines direct student support with advisory and collaborative work across the University. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Assess student learning needs and develop tailored learning access plans and reasonable adjustments – Provide expert advice on disability inclusion, assistive technology, and inclusive education practices – Work collaboratively with students to support their access, participation, and success in higher education – Partner with academic and professional staff to facilitate equitable access and inclusive practices – Support the University’s compliance with disability legislation and related policies REQUIREMENTS – A bachelor’s degree or higher in allied health, special education, social welfare, mental health, occupational therapy, speech pathology, or a related field – Proven experience in disability services – Familiarity with the challenges and barriers faced by students with disability in accessing and succeeding in higher education – Strong understanding of legislation, policies, and guidelines related to disability services and inclusion in education – Strong problem-solving and judgement skills – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Inclusion Support Advisors play a critical role in ensuring that higher education is accessible and equitable for students with disability.
