About the Team: The Casual Professional [Student Advising Assistant] provides first-contact support and referrals for current and prospective students across VUHQ Student Service Centres. Working as part of a collaborative team, SAAs assist with resolving student enquiries in a timely and supportive manner. The role also helps students navigate administrative processes and access relevant resources to support their success at Victoria University. SAAs work closely with domestic, international, TAFE and higher education students, as well as CUAs, Student Advisors and university staff. The position may also liaise with prospective students, families and members of the general public. About the Role: Casual Professional [Student Advising Assistant] plays a pivotal role in supporting our students at Victoria University. As the first point of contact for current and future student enquiries, you will be supporting our students to navigate university systems and processes, their personal and academic goals, and setting them up to get the most out of their student experience. In this role you will work closely with our Advisory teams, Student Administration and college staff to support domestic, international, TAFE and higher education students. Our Service centres are across multiple campuses. Position Key Duties A demonstrated student-centred customer service approach to delivering excellent service and to resolving enquiries and complaints at the first point of contact or refer appropriately. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Proven time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated capacity to exercise judgement and discretion with complex or sensitive issues and information. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team, together with the capability to work alone/independently and meet the position objectives. High level skills in the use of databases (in particular the Oracle RightNow CRM), spreadsheets and word processing software Demonstrated capacity to understand and comply with employer policy and practices in all aspects of work and conduct, including OH&S and Anti-Discrimination responsibilities and complete/attend relevant training. Position Details Classification: HEP 4 Salary: $47.46 Per hour Employment Type: Casual Location: Footscary Park Campus, may be relocated to other current or future university campuses.
