OVERVIEW ACAP University College is seeking a WIL Officer to coordinate end-to-end work integrated learning (WIL) and student placement processes while building strong relationships with industry and internal stakeholders. Based in Melbourne or Adelaide, this role combines placement administration, stakeholder engagement, student support, and business development responsibilities. The position supports accredited programs across disciplines including psychology, counselling, social work, criminology, law, and business. As part of ACAP and the broader Navitas network, the role contributes to a student-focused environment centred on academic excellence, collaboration, and positive community impact. The successful candidate will work closely with students, host organisations, and internal teams to expand placement opportunities and maintain compliance standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Drive business development by proactively sourcing new host organisations and converting stakeholder relationships into placement opportunities – Build and maintain strong relationships with WIL partners and internal stakeholders to grow placement capacity – Manage national WIL programs and student placements from matching and shortlisting through to confirmation and finalisation – Ensure placements align with accreditation and legislative requirements – Coordinate placement administration, documentation, and record-keeping to support audit and compliance requirements – Provide timely and professional communication with students and host organisations – Prepare students for placement experiences – Deliver orientation sessions and workshops – Resolve WIL-related issues as they arise – Maintain accurate and confidential records REQUIREMENTS – Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in tertiary education, WIL or placement administration, or student administration – Demonstrated experience developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders – Experience managing administrative processes, student records, and compliance documentation – High level of computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills – Experience using student placement software such as Sonia and student management systems – Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities – Strong communication skills, including professional correspondence with students and external partners – Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment – Flexibility and adaptability to changing systems, processes, and responsibilities – Experience in student engagement preferred – Knowledge of accreditation requirements and regulatory frameworks relevant to professional placements preferred – Existing networks in industries relevant to WIL disciplines preferred WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Work integrated learning plays an important role in preparing students for professional practice by connecting academic study with real-world experience.
