About us Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT) is a leading Private institute of Higher Education with campuses in Melbourne and Sydney. We provide IT, Networking, Data Analytics, Business, Accounting and Engineering (Telecommunications) programs, at Bachelor and Master degree levels, to Australian and International students. MIT has a NEAS-accredited English Language Centre that offers a range of English language courses to help students improve their English skills and prepare them further study in Australia. The Role 12-month contract (Mat leave position) Full-time role On-site role at Sydney campus (CBD) Student Enrolment Officer plays a vital role in MIT’s Student Administration and Experience team, offering essential administrative guidance to students regarding enrolments, program details, and various aspects of their academic journey. This position is pivotal in maintaining accurate student records, utilising MIT’s systems, and ensuring timely and accurate support. Operating with autonomy, the Officer collaborates with the team and management to provide excellent service to students. This position requires a presence on campus to facilitate effective engagement with both students and staff, hybrid or work-from-home arrangements are not possible. Primary Responsibilities Student enrolments and experience: facilitate seamless domestic and international student enrolments, collaborate with academic departments and partner providers, and provide timely information to students about graduation and completion. Student record keeping compliance & policies: ensure precise data retention, regulatory adherence, and maintenance of student files, both digital and hardcopy, in alignment with MIT and partner institute policies. Enrolment reports & duties: produce and provide timely and accurate enrolment data, completion letters, transcripts, and exemption letters, contributing to strategic planning and policy development. Communication: effectively communicate enrolment details, foster cooperative relationships, and demonstrate professional customer service to students and stakeholders. Graduation: coordinate graduation processes, including verifying student eligibility, finalising the graduation list, preparing documentation, and contributing to ceremony administration. Maintenance of MITs Records Management System, the Provider Registration and International Student Management Systems (PRISMS), student files (ELO & Bigfoot) Record keeping procedures: regularly review and enhance record-keeping procedures, ensuring the secure safekeeping of student files and proactive contribution to procedure development. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Experience working in a tertiary education institute. Proficiency in PRISMS (Provider Registration and International Student Management System), COE extensions, completion letters, and SCV (Study Course Variation). Knowledge on ESOS Act and the National Code Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word & Outlook Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail Appreciation of cultural awareness and issues relating to the diverse cultural background of the student cohort Knowledge of university policies and procedures is a plus: Familiarity with university policies, procedures, and campus resources is beneficial. Qualifications: Completion of a tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as Business, Education, or Sociology.
